Key Storylines
- Rashee Rice returns: Kansas City finally gets its suspended receiver back, giving Patrick Mahomes another weapon. His presence will force the Raiders to spread their coverage further and opens up more space for Travis Kelce and Hollywood Brown.
- Raiders’ QB regression: Geno Smith has struggled with turnovers and Las Vegas’ offense has lacked consistency because of that. He’ll need to play better to keep pace with the offensive output of the Chiefs.
- Running game battle: Las Vegas leans on Ashton Jeanty in their running game. He is well on his way to a 1,000-yard rookie season and he will try to help the Raiders control the clock and steal this game on the road.
- Home dominance: The Chiefs have been strong at Arrowhead and are coming off a win at home over the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football in week 6.

Patrick Mahomes is off to a nice start this season. He’s thrown 11 touchdowns with just two interceptions. He’s also chipped in 4 rushing touchdowns. With a healthy WR corps including Rice, Kelce, and others, Mahomes could get even better as this season progresses.
Geno Smith has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns so far this season. He has thrown 10 picks and seven touchdowns. Against a defense known for getting pressure on the quarterback, Smith will need to avoid making bad decisions if his team wants any chance in this game.

Final Thoughts
The return of Rashee Rice should give the Chiefs a boost on offense. That and the turnover issues for Geno Smith should give Kansas City all the edge they need to get a win in Week 7. That said, I’m taking the points with the Raiders, as they will likely find enough success running the ball to work the clock and limit the number of possessions in this game to supress the margin.
