The Stars have started the season at 2–0–0 and look sharp offensively. They most recently got a 5–4 shootout win over the Colorado Avalanche and beat the Winnipeg Jets as well. The Stars are playing their home opener here and will try to take advantage of being on home ice. Minnesota is 2–1–0 early in the season. The Wild recently weathered a late rally by the Kings to win 4–3 in a shootout after blowing a 3-0 lead. The Wild have been inconsistent at times but things have worked well for them so far.
Goaltending
Dallas will likely rely on Jake Oettinger, who made 35 saves in the shootout win over Colorado. His 3.84 GAA is high, but he will try to rebound from that here. Minnesota recently turned to Jesper Wallstedt, who made 31 saves in his debut. But it will likely be Filip Gustavsson in net in this game after he split his first two games in goal.

For Dallas, the top trio of Jason Robertson, Mikko Rantanen, and Tyler Seguin has been strong. Minnesota has struggled on defense over their last two games and I expect that to continue against a Stars team that is playing at an elite level.
