Key Storylines
The biggest storyline entering Game 4 is whether Philadelphia has enough offense left to extend the series. The Philadelphia 76ers have scored 94 points or fewer in two of the first three games and have struggled badly late in contests. Tyrese Maxey and Paul George have both cooled off in fourth quarters, while Embiid still does not look fully healthy after dealing with hip and ankle issues.
New York, meanwhile, has looked like the deeper and more complete roster. Even with OG Anunoby missing Game 3 because of a hamstring injury, the Knicks received major contributions from Landry Shamet and their bench unit. - Joel Embiid remains the center of Philadelphia’s offense even while dealing with injuries. He returned in Game 3, but his mobility looked limited at times. Embiid still changes the game defensively and can take over stretches offensively, though New York has forced him into difficult shots throughout the series.
- Tyrese Maxey led Philadelphia during the first round and averaged 26.9 points and 6.6 assists during the regular season. The Knicks have pressured him with physical perimeter defense, and his scoring efficiency has dipped late in games.
- Paul George needs a major bounce-back effort. George started Game 3 aggressively before fading after halftime. Philadelphia cannot survive another uneven performance from one of its top scorers.
- Kelly Oubre Jr. delivered 22 points in Game 3 and has been one of the few consistent energy players for Philadelphia. His activity on defense and ability to attack the rim have kept the 76ers competitive for stretches.
New York Knicks
- Jalen Brunson has been the best player in this series. He scored 33 points with 9 assists in Game 3 and continues to exploit Philadelphia’s perimeter defense. Brunson is averaging more than 31 points per game in the series and has completely controlled late-game possessions.
- Karl-Anthony Towns has given the New York Knicks balance with scoring, rebounding, and floor spacing. His rebounding presence has helped the Knicks generate extra possessions throughout the series.
- Mikal Bridges has quietly become one of the most valuable players on the floor because of his perimeter defense and efficient scoring. He added 23 points in Game 3 while taking difficult defensive assignments.
- OG Anunoby remains a major injury storyline. Before suffering the hamstring strain, he averaged 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 1.1 blocks during the postseason.

Philadelphia should come out with urgency in front of its home crowd, though the offensive consistency simply has not been there. The Knicks have defended Maxey extremely well late in games, while Bridges and Hart continue to create turnovers and extra possessions.
