The Yankees remain my preferred side here because of their stronger lineup and overall team metrics. New York owns the best run differential in the American League and has continued to win despite injuries to several star players.
The under is attractive because both clubs send quality left-handers to the mound. Skubal owns a 3.02 ERA and continues to generate strikeouts at an elite rate. Weathers has quietly stabilized things after a difficult stretch and enters the game off one of his strongest outings of the season.
Skubal’s strikeout prop rounds out the ticket. The left-hander averages nearly 10 strikeouts per nine innings and faces a Yankees lineup that is willing to work deep counts, creating opportunities for strikeouts even if he allows a few baserunners.
