Clemson deserves credit for its tournament run and for taking down a ranked North Carolina team in dramatic fashion by holding off a late run. The Tigers are disciplined defensively and tend to drag opponents into slower games. That style could keep the score manageable and limit Duke’s transition scoring.
Even with that in mind, Duke still holds the edge in talent and offensive efficiency. Boozer remains one of the toughest matchups in the country, and Evans provides a perimeter threat that Clemson struggled to contain in previous meetings. Duke also has a clear advantage on the glass, which could generate second-chance points.
In this game, I’m going to take the points with Clemson with the expectation that Duke wins by 8-10 points. The Tigers have already proven they can hang around with Duke for the most part on the defensive end of the floor and I think Clemson will do just enough offensively to keep things manageable.
