Seattle has gotten off to one of its better starts, going 2–0–1 through three games. Their first two games were wins before they fell 5–4 in overtime to Montreal on Tuesday. Ottawa is stumbling coming into this matchup. Their most recent loss saw them give up eight goals to Buffalo and exposed weaknesses in their defense and goaltending. The Sens have lost three straight games and are playing on the second night of a back-to-back here.
Goaltending
Joe Daccord is off to a nice start in net for Seattle. He has a .918 save percentage in three games entering this contest. Ottawa’s goaltending has not been good so far this season. Both of their goaltenders have GAAs of over 4.00 and that is not going to be good enough if Ottawa wants to be a serious contender for a place in the playoffs later in the year.

Jared McCann is running hot for the Kraken. He has scored in multiple games and leads Seattle with three goals early on. Vince Dunn has also been a factor, leading the Kraken with three assists. The Kraken’s power play is converting at 22.2% and they will need to be efficient on the power play if they want to win here.
Ottawa faces a serious void in losing Brady Tkachuk to injury. Other forwards like Shane Pinto will now bear an extra burden to produce. Pinto has responded nicely to that challenge thus far, scoring five goals and recording a total of six points for the Senators.
