The Kings are 1–1 to start the season. They dropped their opener against Colorado 4–1, then responded with a wild 6–5 shootout win over Vegas. Their defense has struggled from a consistency standpoint, though they have done a great job of generating scoring chances. Winnipeg lost their opener 5–4 to Dallas despite a three-goal game from Kyle Connor. The Jets will look to even their record with a win at home here.

Los Angeles is expected to deploy Darcy Kuemper in goal. He struggled in Los Angeles’ opener, posting a .826 save percentage in that contest. Connor Hellebuyck allowed five goals on 37 shots in the opener for Winnipeg. The Jets’ goaltender will need some more help from his defenders, but will also need to be more effective stopping shots on his own.
